Dear Fellow Passionate Media Followers,
I talked to my group on Thursday about changing the whole film opener idea. They were a little scared with the idea because they were worried that changing the whole video idea this late in the production process could make the video look rushed. I tried to explain to them that, in fact, this film opener could look a lot better than the original idea. My group said to give it two more days to see if we could get a home to film at in the location we want to film at.
I agreed to this plan, but today I talked to my friend about reserving a plane for next Saturday and he told me he would reserve the plane tomorrow. As well as, I called the lense rental company in Miami and they said they would reserve the lense for me for the weekend and give me a 20% discount on the lense because I told them this was for a student film project. I also got all supplies that I was in charge of getting today at Publix.
Today, I also made a whole production plan for our portfolio project. This plan is going to help my group be more organized throughout the remainder of this project. I have attached the plan below:

Storyboard/Plot Summary:
Modern film based in 2019. (SKATEBOARD FILM)
Film opens with an establish shot of a house, alarm clock is going off. Actors yawns and looks around. Yelling can be heard in the background - his family is having an argument. Actor not shown.
Dad “turn your alarm clock off now” in an angry voice. Arguing continues as main character turns off alarm and gets dressed. Setting shows a room of a kid who is interested in skateboarding, with different posters on his wall that depict this idea. Fully dressed in a typical outfit of somebody that skateboard wears. (black/cargo jeans, plain shirt high socks). Actor finished getting dressed walks in living room.
MOM “Jared, what did i tell you about turning your alarm clock on”
Son “ im sorry” The relationship between the parents and the son is noted in which appears to be abusive although not enough is known to make this assumption thus far.
Dad drops glass on the floor, shatters every. Low angle shot of glass falling
Dad upset “clean up my glass now before i step on it”.
(low pitched ringing noise begins, kind of annoying but not loud enough yet to be a big deal for viewers.)
(furthering abusive idea) Son cleans up glass
“Now get out of my house”
Son grabs skateboard and leaves how shots of him riding down the street are shown jump cut of varying tricks. As he is going down the street he misses a ollie and falls ringing intensifies that is a sound motif paired with his parents. Diegetic sound is not heard anymore and the ringing intensified.
At this point the son is at town center skating the stairs and we seem him trying to jump over the stairs. Every Time he falls the ringing gets louder until it becomes inaudible. Quick cuts show 3-4 attempts and finally last attempt low shot slow motion. Lands it rings disappears silence for a second. Title appears on concrete next to him.

FILM OPENER DUE!!!!!!
|
Overall, I think either film opener we decide to make its going to be amazing. Hopefully, Tuesday we are going to pick the idea we are going to create and make the idea a reality this upcoming weekend! I am very excited to see what we end up making.
Sincerely,
