Since this past weekend we concluded filming put film opener, today my group started editing our video. We have decided to edit using the software called Adobe Premier. We decided to go with this editing software for a number of reasons. The first being that it would give us a lot more capabilities to color grade the footage we shoot because we would be able to use LUTs. This would allow us to make the footage have the film look and esthetic that we are going for. We decided to buy different LUTS, than the ones that I told you guys we were gonna buy a while ago. Instead we decided to buy these two color grading packs:
Furthermore, this program would allow us to insert film overlays so we can make our video look like it was shot on an 8mm film camera. I have attached pictures what we want out footage to look like.
We don't know for sure if we want to make our footage have the 8mm look, but we are going to see if it looks good. Editing on Adobe Premier will also allow us to take advantage of Adobe After Effects, so we can add interesting effects to our footage.
Overall, Premier Pro is gonna be the best editing software because not only is one of my group members certified in using it but also because it is great for beginners and even powerful enough for professionals. So, me and my fellow group members can hopefully learn how to use it quickly and it is every easy to color correct. As well as, the program is fairly inexpensive. I am very excited to get to
Sincerely,
